QHSE Guru will assist the organisations to implement and maintain their FSC “chain-of-custody” certification to meet the requirements of their annual certification visits. These annual external “chain of custody” audits require organisations to demonstrate that they have effective internal processes in place to correctly:
- Purchase of FSC certified material from an FSC supplier.
- Handling of FSC materials under their control.
- Use of FSC claims and logos.
Failure to pass these annual audits will result in the organisations not being able to use the FSC logos and make the necessary FSC chain of custody claims.
QHSE Guru can help organisations more easily understand and implement and maintain the elements of the “chain-of-custody” system that are relevant to them. If implemented correctly and kept up to date, having FSC “chain-of-custody” certification does not need to be burdensome and allows organisations to trade successfully with global brands who need to demonstrate that they are selling wood fibre based products that have come from responsibly managed sources.
